To prevent damage, disruption, injury or even death it is essential for underground asset owners to have efficient tools to report to and communicate with excavators, planners, engineering companies, farmers, surveyors, etc.

Network an infrastructure companies need to supply information about their underground assets before any digging takes place. They may manage their underground assets within spatial asset management systems, based on Smallworld, Oracle Spatial, ESRI, Bentley, etc. Related information may be stored in ERP, CRM systems based on database systems, like Oracle, SQL Server.

Spatial Eye now offers an, of the shelf Call Before You Dig (CBYD) application that can be configured or customized for varying communication processes and data sources.

 

Spatial Eye CBYD

The Spatial CBYD application supports processes like:

  • Automatic and manual processing of CBYD work orders;
  • Monitoring and control over work orders in progress;
  • Reports and analysis of ongoing or finished jobs;
  • Archiving and support of damage reporting;
  • Inform internal or external parties on selected work orders.

Flexible and configurable

Organizations, processes and systems change through time. The Spatial Eye CBYD application is highly configurable without the need for customization.
The application is currently i.e. fully configured to be compatible with the legal CBYD regulation in the Netherlands (WION).

 

Main characteristics of the Spatial Eye CBYD application

  • Direct access to data sources. CBYD messages on basis of life data.
    No data duplication, less mistakes, no complex data management structures;
  • Data structures of CBYD are independent of the source (GIS) data structures;
  • Integration with Outlook and Spatial Workshop client application.

Product structure

The Spatial Eye CBYD application consists of the following components:

  • The CBYD server handling the CBYD workflow, logging and work order management;
  • The X&Y server, handling all spatial requests;
  • Spatial Workshop for configuration, reporting and analysis;
  • The CBYD PlugIn for Outlook and Spatial Workshop, the user interface for handling work orders.
