Ziggo prevents network damage

Yearly excavation accidents cause millions of financial damage or may create enormous risks.
Through a special law (WION: Wet Informatie-uitwisseling Ondergrondse Netten) the Dutch government tries to limit the damage and risks through automated and secure communication of excavation and network data between diggers and network management companies.

Ziggo, a countrywide supplier of media and communication services in the Netherlands, gives a high priority to decreasing damage and risks caused by excavation works.  Ziggo implemented the Spatial Eye DBYD (WION) application to optimize the process of network data supply to excavators in line with the law WION.

Automating this process does not mean that messages are sent without appropriate evaluation of the projected work. Through an advanced system of business rules in the system low risk messages are processes automatically, while higher risk messages are processed by experts supported by a configurable workflow process.

Spatial Eye supports Ziggo to handle information exchange for excavation works in an optimal way.
